My road to a “Full stack developer”

When looking at job descriptions these days the term “Full Stack Developer” pops up increasingly. I now what a stack trace is but not really what “Full Stack Developer” means.

From a naif point of view I would think as a “Full stack developer” of someone that

knows everything from the wiring of a ethernet cables covering OS, Cloud, diverse Programming Languages to every single Angular JS directive

and of course is proficient in software development methodologies like SCRUM CI & CD.

Since this form of existence is probably impossible to obtain (at least for me), I searched a little bit around the web for skills that “Full stack developers” claim to have.

I added some technologies which I am personalities interested in and came up with the following list of skills that I would like to acquire on my road to a “Full stack developer”:

  • Android / App Development
  • Kubernetes
  • Angular JS
  • Docker / Docker swarm
  • Pyhton
  • Flask
  • Go
  • Ruby
  • HTML5
  • Node.js

This obviously nice looking list is also quiet an ambitious goal. So there’s lots of work to do and I will post my progress on this loooong road in the coming months.
